What is the VRC?
The VRC is a virtual reference center.
Virtual means that this resource is online; it is not a physical book. It is available for you to access and read 24/7 from any location through ClassLink.
Reference is a special type of library resource that provides INFORMATION. Encyclopedia, dictionaries, thesauri, and atlases are examples of reference. Before the internet, reference materials were books but now they are all available as digital, or virtual, media. If you want to see how things were done in the olden days, check out the Reference section in the library!
Center means that all of the different types of reference materials can be found in one place--just like you can find all of the reference books in the same place in the library, you can find all digital, or virtual, reference in the same place: the VRC.
