Students will need the following materials for instrumental lessons:

• Essential Elements for Band Book 1: With Essential Elements Interactive (same book as 2020)

• A Music Stand for at home practice 

• Rental instrument & listed accessories below
• Band Mask (provided by school)

Flute: Cleaning rod & cloth

Clarinet: A box of ‘2’ reeds, cork grease, cleaning swab

Alto Saxophone: A box of ‘2’ reeds, cork grease, cleaning swab

Trumpet: Valve oil, a mouthpiece & mouthpiece brush, a soft cloth
Trombone: Slide grease, spray bottle, a mouthpiece & mouthpiece brush, a soft cloth

Baritone: Valve oil, a mouthpiece & mouthpiece brush, a soft cloth

Percussion: Snare drum pad, 2B or 2S sticks, Snare drum pad stand, Bell kit.  Purchase an entire ‘drum kit.’  Pick a case that is easy to roll around!

I recommend renting an instrument for the first few years of playing! (With the exception of percussion’s equipment).  Please be wary of new instruments from Ebay, Target or Walmart- most are poorly made and will break easily.  In order for your child to succeed they will need to play on a reliable instrument.  If there are any financial problems we can work together to establish school assistance; each student should have the opportunity to play and learn!

We will start lessons on Monday, September 27th.

Band will start the following week on Tuesday, October 5th.
